Young get taste of world on Harmony Day

ENJOYING an extra special Harmony Day celebration last Thursday, Padstow Heights Public School students (pictured) dressed in orange or their national dress and invited their parents to take part in a range of multicultural activities.

These included one mum running a German lantern-making session complete with German Easter treats to enjoy, an Indian mum leading a Dwali Festival craft workshop, a Greek mum teaching students the Zorba dance while a Macedonian parent demonstrated dance moves accompanied by traditional drumming.
These sessions were followed by a school assembly with parents in attendance and a spokesperson said it was the best, most fun Harmony Day ever.
