Year Six students to get free pool or court entry

EVERY local Year Six student will receive a one-time twin pass to a swimming pool of their choice within Cumberland or a one-hour free access pass to The Granville Centre synthetic court.

Mayor Steve Christou says it has been a very difficult year for everyone, in particular for all school kids and their parents, and this is just one of the many ways the council is encouraging the health and wellbeing of local kids, “who are the future of this council”.
“From speaking with a number of residents in the community, I understand that some kids have been unable to reach their usual level of fitness activity, given the challenges the pandemic has brought in this year,” he said. “That’s why the council is providing local kids and their families access to our council owned facilities to help them get outdoors these school holidays.”
The council will also write to each student congratulating them on their achievements.
