Year 10 student scores gold medal at State trampoline championships

MERRYLANDS High School was celebrating last week after Year 10 student Teegan Lam won gold in trampolining at the 2023 NSWCHSSA Trampoline Sports Championships.

Principal Amika Prasad said that in the 16 years girls’ category, Teegan came first in the double mini, fourth in trampoline, fifth in single mini, 11th in tumbling and third in the State overall.
“This was ahead of Teegan competing in the nationals last week where she came fourth on the double mini and fourth in trampoline and seventh in tumbling,” he said.
“We are extremely proud of Teegan and her dedication to her sport.”
Head teacher PDHPE Mario Radisic said she was a talented all-rounder and excelled in a number of sports.
“We still have a term to go but Teegan is very close to being named Merrylands High School’s Sportswoman of the Year,” he said.
“She is one of our high-achieving gymnastics students and is doing remarkably well; she will start competing at open level in Years 11 and 12.”
