Street League Skateboarding (SLS), the world’s premier professional skateboarding series, will return to Ken Rosewall Arena on October 12-13 with a line-up that also includes reigning champions and emerging talents, promising fans of all ages even more excitement and unforgettable moments.
After qualifying on the first day, more than 28 SLS Pros will vie for valuable points toward SLS Super Crown World Championship qualification on the purpose-built, technically demanding course.
Taking centre stage alongside global icons, and at just 14 years old, Covell has already made waves as a skate prodigy, captivating audiences with her technical ability and an already vast collection of tricks. Her meteoric rise mirrors the growing prominence of women’s sports globally and she is poised to be a world star.
“I can’t wait for SLS to return to Sydney in October,” Covell said.
“Having competed last year and seen the energy of the fans inside (Ken Rosewall Arena), I know this year is going to be even more insane. Sydney has really grown a big skateboarding scene and it’s super cool to see SLS comeback to build that even more,” she said.
Having finished second last year, she’ll no doubt want to silence the home crowd this time around and add to her already impressive roster of first place finishes.
Fellow Aussie Shane O’Neill, an SLS Pro and 2016 Super Crown world champion, will also be vying for victory.
World’s best skateboarders on way for thrilling series
TWO months after they competed at the Olympics Paris, the world’s best skateboarders, including Australia’s own Chloe Covell, will be in Sydney Olympic Park for two days of action-packed competition.
