Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a complete novice, artist Alex Lehours will walk you through the fundamentals of mural concept design at a workshop for ages 12-24 years on Friday, June 23, 4-8pm, at Belmore Youth Resource Centre.
Perfect for any young person who wants to develop their creative skills, this workshop will delve into the world of mural production – from selecting the right colours and materials to creating dynamic compositions.
After the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to join Alex again over two painting sessions in July and get hands on experience painting their design at a public wall in Roselands.
Alex said the workshop and painting sessions were a fantastic opportunity for anyone keen to get started in mural design and painting.
“It’s a nice stepping stone to learning what’s involved and getting some experience,” he said.
“You may be wanting to start a career or just explore an interest but these opportunities aren’t always around; it’s great the council has taken the lead because beautifying local areas is also a win for the community.”
Cost: $10 (includes concept workshop and two painting sessions).
Register early (spaces limited): cbcity.nsw.gov.au or 9707 5782.
