Work together as a community to get through

HOUSEHOLDS and workplaces are continuing to be the biggest concern for Covid-19 transmission.

Although the numbers in the last 24 hours have fallen to 170 locally acquired cases with 42 infectious in the community, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has continued to plead with residents to stay home unless it’s absolutely necessary, wear masks outside and get vaccinated.
“Please do not leave your home unless you absolutely have to, please do not have contact with any other household,” she said.
“We are still seeing transmission in households and workplaces as the two main places.”
After saying that while the numbers of infections are considerably less than yesterday they (numbers) are expected bounce around.
Ms Berejiklian reiterated that the number of people infectious in the community is “what needs to come down, in order for us to have that level of freedom that all of use are desperately wanting to have”.
“Our biggest weapon against the virus is vaccination,” she said.
“Can I please encourage everyone to come forward and get vaccinated.
“The quicker we get vaccinated the quicker we can live more freely.”
A five-day vaccination blitz from August 9 will see more than 20,000 year 12 students get the jab at Qudos Bank Arena at Sydney Olympic Park.
