Bowlers restricted St George to a total of 205, with the pick being Maddy Spence 1-13 off 6 and Amber Smith 1-23 off 10.
Chasing 206, wickets fell regularly, leaving Bankstown short by 45 runs. Best batters were Stella Wilde 36 (52) and Jade Errington 24 (41), with the team looking to improve to keep their finals campaign alive.
Second grade had a comfortable win against Gordon.
Ellie Newsom and Sarah Lawler’s 2/20 off 10 straight overs stopped Gordon’s momentum before Ava Blackburn claimed 4/22, finishing all out 133.
In reply, Jessica Robertson (14) and Chrissa Stathis started well and an 105-run partnership from Emma Newman 55 and Maeve Martin 38, helped Bankstown chase down Gordon’s score in 38 overs.
Third Grade played against St George-Sutherland and bowled first.
They kept St George to a total of 6 wickets for 126 runs off 40 overs. Stand out efforts from Scotia McKerron taking 2 wickets for 18 runs off 8 overs and Denbigh Morris taking one wicket for 12 runs off 8 overs.
Unfortunately Bankstown were not able to reach the target, scoring 10 wickets for 44 off 32 overs.
BSWCC Brewers lost against Gordon after their top order fell quickly. Lily Salter (20 runs/31) and Jess McMillan (15 runs/80) stabilised Bankstown but they totalled 9-90 by the 35th over.
Bankstown’s opening bowlers Camryn Harland bowled 8 overs with 4 maidens and Milla Bruce bowled tight but Gordon chased down the runs by the 32nd over.
