Women celebrate after three out of four victorious

BANKSTOWN Sports Women’s Cricket Club (BSWCC) First Grade have made it two in a row with a comfortable win over Manly Warringah.

Dharmini Chauhan made batting look easy with a superb 119 not out off 136. Emily Lawler, 55 and Stella Wilde’s quick fire 35 pushed the total to 281.
Maddy Spence, Karina Bell, Alice Whelan, Chauhan and Emily Lawler all picked up two wickets each, with Manly all out for 171.
Congratulations to Stella Wilde on her debut.
BSWCC’s Second Grade had a 212-run victory over Sydney University in the first 50 over match of the season.
Cynthia Coghlan scored 53 while Emma Newman, 39, Ellie Newsom, 23, Elizabeth Buckley, 18 and Madison Rutherford, 12, contributed to the massive 6/300.
Wickets were shared among Sarah Lawler, Chrissa Stathis, Elizabeth Buckley and Sunshine Ferreiro-De Luca.
BSWCC Third Grade were not so lucky.
Bankstown put in a phenomenal effort, restricting Parramatta to 6 for 104. Rylka Smythe ended the innings with 2 wickets.
Unfortunately Bankstown fell short of the 105 runs required, ending with a score of 2 for 78. Brianna Fraser was a standout on 31 not out.
BSWCC Brewers won an exciting match against Sydney Uni.
Lily Salter (16 runs/44), Jess McMillan (13 runs/9) and Rylka Smythe (15 runs/12) lifted Bankstown to 98.
Sydney was two runs from victory when Rylka Smythe (1/3 off 4) took the ninth wicket, before Lily Salter (2/9 off 3.4) took the last wicket without conceding another run to seal the nail-biting win.
