Woman stabbed

A woman is in a stable condition after she was stabbed in Padstow this morning.

About 8.40am today, emergency services were called to a childcare centre on Bank Street, Padstow, following reports a person had been stabbed.
Bankstown Police arrived to find a 39-year-old woman had been stabbed while leaving a train station, before making her way to a childcare centre where she was assisted.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for stab wounds to her chest before being taken to Bankstown Hospital in a stable condition.
Police are investigating the incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
