About 3.25pm on Friday, December 30, a woman and her nine-year-old granddaughter were sitting at a bus stop on Kentucky Road, Riverwood, when another woman – who was unknown to them – approached them and allegedly grabbed the girl’s arm and attempted to pull her away.
Police said the grandmother fought off the woman, who fled into a nearby unit complex.
Soon after, Campsie Police arrested a 48-year-old woman at the unit block and she was taken to hospital.
The woman was released from hospital last Friday charged with attempt take/detain child with intent to remove from parental control, two counts of common assault, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty and assault police officer in execution of duty.
