About 9pm on Sunday, November 13, police were called to Valencia Street after reports of a shooting.
Two people were outside a home when it was fired on from a white Subaru WRX sedan parked nearby.
No one was injured and the car was later located burnt-out at Mt Druitt.
Initial investigations suggest the Subaru had been parked in Valencia Street about 6pm prior to the shooting.
Police said two people were seen running from the Subaru into a second vehicle about 9.50pm in Mt Druitt.
As inquiries continue, strike force investigators are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the Greenacre area between 5.30pm and 10pm, in particular Roberts Road, Valencia Street, Maiden Street, Rawson Road, Centenary Drive, the M4 and Roper Road, then in Hewitt Street, the Great Western Highway, Simpson Hill Road, Ropes Creek Road, Albert Street and Mt Druitt Road in Mt Druitt.
Police believe the Subaru WRX sedan was parked in the Fairfield area prior to the shooting and are urging anyone who saw it to come forward.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is urged to contact Crime Stoppers, 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
