Man died after triple shooting

A MAN has died after he was shot in a triple shooting in Greenacre at the weekend.

The trio were shot while parked in a Greenacre street early Sunday morning, in what police believe was a targeted attack.
Emergency services were called Mayvic Street shortly after 2.15am where they found three people – two men aged 25 and 22 and a woman, 19, sitting in two parked cars – who had been shot.
Paramedics treated the 25-year-old found injured in one parked vehicle, as well as the younger man and woman in a separate parked vehicle. All were taken to hospital, with the older man in a critical condition.
About five minutes after the shooting, a vehicle was reported alight in Amy Street, Regents Park, which may be linked to the attack. The car fire spread to a wooden fence and tree with firefighters extinguishing the blaze.
Crime scenes were established in Greenacre and Regents Park, with Mayvic Street remaining closed for several hours while police scoured the crime scene, obtained CCTV footage from nearby homes and bagged evidence.
Superintendent Simon Glasser said police believed it was a targeted attack.
“It’s terrible behaviour. It could have resulted in a death … and it still may,” he said.
“We are looking for at least one shooter.
“We are also asking anyone that may have been in Greenacre and Regents Park between 2am and 2.30am and may have any information or dashcam footage to contact police or crime stoppers.”
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of either location between 2am and 2.30am and has information or dashcam vision they believe to be relevant to the investigation, to contact Auburn Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
