Wishing Tree Appeal invite to donate gift

CELEBRATING 35 years of supporting those doing it tough, Kmart has officially launched its iconic Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal with founding charity partner, The Salvation Army, in store and online

The need for the Appeal is greater than ever-before, as families face cost-of-living pressures such as increased electricity and food prices and rising interest rates.
The Salvation Army research last year found that a staggering 83 per cent of those surveyed were struggling to afford Christmas presents for their children, with this year’s Christmas expected to be one of the Salvo’s busiest.
Kmart CEO John Gualtieri said: “We aim to make everyday living brighter and if you can, we encourage you to give a gift, regardless of size or value – together we can make a world of difference in the communities we live and work in.”
This year’s theme, ‘Small Gift, Big Heart’, calls on the community to drop off a new, unwrapped gift under the Wishing Tree at any Kmart and KHub store.
Suggested gifts include books, school supplies, headphones, essentials for all ages such as socks, bed linen and bath towels and gift cards.
Or when shopping at Kmart, click the Wishing Tree logo on the self-serve check out to add to a transaction or make a gold coin donation into the collection box at the register.
