IT was a case of second time lucky for outstanding football team The Punishers, winners of the Lebanese Muslim Association’s Open Men’s Final at its League Tag Gala Day at Gosling Park, Greenacre.
The Punishers had finished runners-up to the rampaging Bankstown Spider Men in last year’s event but were rewarded for their perseverance with a resounding 5-1 victory in this year’s final over the Wazowski.
The Youth Final (Under 16s) was taken out by The Dangleberries, who like The Punishers, generously donated their $500 winner’s cheque to charity.
