Sydney Markets CEO Brad Latham said it had been a challenging 10 weeks and in accordance with Government guidelines, only food-focused traders will resume operations at this time, with Foodies Friday open from 10am-4.30pm, and Fresh Food Saturday back from 6am-2pm.
“We encourage customers to pay Paddy’s a visit and get behind some of the small businesses in our community that have been doing it tough,” he said.
“As the home of fresh produce, there’s no better place to stock up on the best and freshest winter fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood, deli goods and more.”
Paddy’s Markets have implemented strict social distancing, hygiene and customer control measures, including temperature testing all visitors and imposing a two-hour shopping limit.
The Sydney Flower Market will also re-open to the general public on Saturdays from 5am-11am, but Sunday Paddy’s Flemington and Paddy’s Swap and Sell remain closed until further notice.
