Win $600,000 for court upgrades

PADSTOW is to get a new netball facility, thanks to federal funding of $600,000.

The Bankstown City Netball Association will use the cash to construct hard-ground courts at Clarke Reserve in Padstow. Currently, these courts are grass only. The funding will also be used to improve lighting at Smith Park, the court used by the East Hills Bullettes.

Banks MP David Coleman welcomed the announcement.

“For too long local netball players and their families, have had to travel to Condell Park due to a lack of facilities here; this funding will mean that players in southern Bankstown will now have a quality facility,” he said.

Association secretary Tara Banbury said: “The Association is excited to see these upgrades go ahead and to witness the positive impact they will have for local athletes.”
