Sally Bathgate said her children went to different schools and in one week, four of the five services they used each day were cancelled, along with the back-up services; her son’s morning bus has been cancelled every day this term.
“We are so fed up and it’s taken up so much of my mental space these last few weeks, I’m a nervous wreck trying to make alternate plans daily,” she said.
“It is not fair – we never had a problem with previous operator Punchbowl Bus Company in all these years.”
Others have also complained, with one commuter saying it was no longer possible to catch a bus directly to Chullora, while another said she was resorting to lifts from friends to get groceries because the bus service had become so unreliable.
U-Go Mobility Managing Director Daniel Corbin said they were working hard to improve services.
“We have made progress but still have a long way to go,” he said.
“Many passengers are being impacted by the reduced timetable and we sincerely apologise for the disruption.
“Restoring our services to full capacity is top priority and we are recruiting 75 bus drivers needed. We are offering a $5,000 retention and sign on bonus, and a $2,000 referral bonus.”
