Where good times just keep rolling in

THERE is so much to see and explore in NSW – from colonial goldfields and historic stock routes to ancient limestone caves, honeycombed rock towers, snow-capped mountains and pristine beaches – but if you want to enjoy trips to these destinations on your own steam and speed, it might be time to consider joining a 4WD drive club.

Western Sydney-based Jackaroo 4WD Club of Australia – which meets every second Friday at 7.30pm at Jones Park Hall in Mays Hill – has been established since 1983 and includes about 36 members and their partners, including Colin and Lynette Robinson.
They joined the club about seven years ago and wished they’d done it sooner having just returned from an expedition to Lithgow’s ‘Lost City’, a unique geological phenomenon crafted out of the earth over millions of years, which is almost impossible to visit unless via a 4WD.
“Joining a 4WD club opens up a network of people who share your interest and passion for adventure,” Lynette said.
“They help you keep up with everything that’s going on, from driver training and social activities to changes in legislation that affect off-roaders. Not to mention all the buddies you’ll meet to hit the road with.”
There’s always something to look forward to at the Jackaroo club.
Whether it’s a painted grain silo tour, upcoming Great Artesian Bore Tour, Kangaroo Valley adventure or an exclusive south coast wine tour, the good times just keep rolling on.
All you need is a roadworthy, insured vehicle as well as an adventurous spirit.
