With school staff committed to raising learning outcomes and academic performance, students are provided with a positive, supportive and engaging environment which aligns with the school motto ‘Tibi Confidas’ or ‘Be True to Yourself’.
All are also encouraged to be safe, respectful learners.
Bass High’s Community Liaison Officer Hawraa Beydoun is determined to foster a connection between the school and the extended community through utilising student voices and implementing community perspective into the school’s culture where ‘Family Focus Group’ discussions strengthen bonds.
“These community bonds help support students to achieve their full potential,” she said.
“Every term we also share the activities and events run at the school through out newsletter, ‘Bass Buzz’ which also helps create connections with parents and the wider community.”
Helping to build resilience, coping skills and positive relationships, Student Support Officer Fatima Taha-Akca is committed to the implementation of Bass High’s whole-of-school approach to wellbeing.
“This encourages students to develop social and emotional skills through targeted strengths-based programs and strategies,” she said.
“We are proud to be part of the local area and educating the next generation of young citizens to reach for the stars.”
Bass High invites all parents and guardians of Year 7 students to a ‘Meet & Greet’ barbecue tomorrow, Thursday, March 9, 3.30-5.30pm, where families will have the opportunity to connect with staff members and engage in their child’s learning journey.
