Songwriting grand final

THE final 13 artists, representing songwriters from across Australia, will descend on Sydney’s Factory Theatre for the Grand Final of The Songwriting Prize on Thursday, November 28. Australia’s only mental health songwriting competition, now in its fourth year, continues to grow while uniting communities. All entrants entered songs that fit the theme of ‘Songs that Heal’, with the opportunity to win money-can’t-buy experiences from Audio Technica, JBL/Harman and Studios 301 to name a few. Story-time with police
WANT your little one to be familiar around police should any emergency arise? Parents and carers are invited to bring their toddlers aged three to five for the regular story-time at Ashfield Library, where a friendly officer from Ashfield Police, will join in for a special, police-themed story-time offering loads of fun, excitement and education. It’s on offer this Thursday, November 21, 11am-11.45am. No bookings required.

Botanical illustration tips
JOIN illustrator Rose Colbeck for a full day on the farm at Pocket City Farms, 31A Mallet Street, Camperdown, where you will be taught the techniques behind botanical illustration. You will work on a couple of drawings to take home with you, and you will leave the workshop with skills in creating your own portfolio of botanical beauty.
