The event was to say thank you to the locals for bearing with the centre while they make upgrades and get a glimpse into the future of the centre, however it was also an opportunity to to support the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre by collecting winter blanket donations.
It was the first of a series of events the Marrickville Metro will host to celebrate the local community.
