What is a safe, healthy relationship?

FAMILY Planning Australia has released its Relationships 101 booklet, which is now available in 21 languages.

Following a collaboration with the NSW Multicultural Health Communication Service, the booklet has been translated into 18 more languages.
The booklet is designed to provide the information that people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds need when entering new relationships. It covers topics such as consent, dating, and same sex relationships.
The Relationships 101 booklet was developed with young people in Southwest Sydney, with funding from NSW Health.
Further translations will give more people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including those from refugee backgrounds, important information about their relationships.
The new translations include languages such as Farsi, Ukrainian, Somali, and Urdu.
Family Planning Australia Health Promotion manager Ee-Lin Chang said the extensive translation of the booklet reflected the multicultural Australian society.
“We want all Australians to have access to important information about their relationships, reproductive and sexual health,” Ee-Lin said.
“As we enter Refugee week, it’s great to be releasing a resource in 21 languages.
“Our message to refugee groups and people from linguistically diverse backgrounds is that every person has the right to enjoy safe and healthy relationships.”
