Weapons, drugs, cash seized in police raids

Police raided homes in Guildford, Merrylands and Granville, seizing a Mercedes-Benz, jet ski and cash during a “disruption operation” targeting organised crime groups in Sydney’s west and south-west.
Cumberland Police established Strike Force Durok to disrupt organised crime networks involved in conflict, after recent public place shootings in the area.
About 7am yesterday (Tuesday, March 9), detectives with assistance from the Criminal Groups Squad, Raptor Squad, South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group, Public Order and Riot Squad and the Dog Unit executed eight simultaneous search warrants at properties in Guildford, Merrylands and Granville.
During the searches, police seized a Mercedes-Benz, jet ski, about $85,000 cash, weapons, cannabis, electronics, documents and other items, which will undergo examination.
A 19-year-old man was arrested at a home in Guildford, where police allegedly located a replica pistol, two knuckle dusters and an electronic stun device. He was charged with possess unauthorised pistol, and possess a prohibited weapon without permit.
Inquiries continue.
