Celebrated artist Nico Nicoson will be aided by creative talents from Western Sydney University, as they bring to life the spirit of Guildford through their portrayal of cultural tributes, such as oriental lanterns, advancing lions and an Arabic-arched window, as well as cockatoos and native Eucalypts as examples of native flora and fauna.
The iconic Lennox Bridge and the heritage-listed Guildford Pipelines will feature along with a soccer player depicting the area’s passion for sports.
The event coincides with the unveiling of the hotel’s newly renovated sports bar and beer garden, with guests able to enjoy entertainment, special drink prices and complimentary snacks throughout the day.
Hotel Group Marketing Manager Chris Farnon said the Guildford Mural would also be a visually stunning homage to the multicultural essence of Western Sydney.
“It’s a privilege to witness Nico’s talent; the mural is not just a painting, it’s a story of our community, our roots and our shared future of creating a safe and welcoming venue,” he said.
“The community excitement is palpable as we all eagerly look forward to see how Nico’s understanding of our space culminates in a magnificent artwork.”
