Waratahs teaching girls to have ball and bloom

GRANVILLE Waratah SFC have just completed their eight-week Summer Skills Program and Club President Noel Dona couldn’t be happier.

“It was a hugely successful program with over 100 children every week experiencing fun sessions while honing their soccer skills,” he said.
“They weren’t just players from our winter season, we had 30 kids experiencing a soccer training environment for the first time and on the back of the Women’s World Cup, hoping to become the next Sam Kerr or Mary Fowler, and that’s fantastic!”
To accommodate the demand and enquiry, Granville Waratah will be holding a free Come Try & See Day tomorrow, Wednesday, December 13, at their home ground, Belmore Park, North Parramatta.
“We have a fun one-hour session planned for kids to let them experience training with teammates and if they like it, then maybe they can join us next year,” Dona said.  “We are especially reaching out to young girls to have a go and enjoy everything soccer has to offer.”
