Waltz down to give dance a try

LOVE to dance? Or have you alway wanted to learn but didn’t know where to begin?

For the last 20 years, Granville Community Dance Group has run courses weekly, teaching people to express themselves, hone their skills and compete while making some great friends along the way.
With all ages and skill levels welcome, you can learn modern, new vogue and Latin styles with the monthly social dance classes a great way to get out and meet people in a supportive environment.
Over 90 per cent of their youth group goes on to dance competitively, making their already proud instructor, local legend Lyn Davis, very happy.

“I think its great; so many come and tell me they wish they had started earlier,” she said.
Lyn has supported the youth group for over 20 years and has seen many of the dancers grow-up.
While shown to have proven health benefits both mentally and physically, dance has always been a part of the human experience and is present in virtually every celebration we have in life.
“It’s not just about the dance,” she said.
“Dancing provides an opportunity to escape from the pressures of life. The classes provide a safe environment for singles to mix and for some to find new friends.”
If you would like to learn and develop a life skill while getting healthy and making friends at the same time, then waltz down to Granville Town Hall.
Classes are held Mondays, 7.30-9.30pm for beginners, Tuesdays, 8-9.30pm for intermediate to advanced and children on Thursdays, 7-9pm.
