Walking Football

Team up with others to boost your fitness, well being

BANKSTOWN District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) will be kicking off two new Walking Football programs at Yagoona and Padstow.
The six-week program is aimed at people over 50 years and the first will begin at O’Neill Park, Yagoona, from this Saturday, February 29, and at Playford Park, Padstow, from Monday, March 2.
BDAFA general manager Leanne Millar says the association is excited to offer the program which engages the community in an active and social environment.
She said the modified format provides an accessible way for beginners and veterans alike to participate in small-sided games with a focus on fun.
“We’re taking a gentle approach to a much-loved game, allowing people to be involved in the sport for a lifetime,” she said.
“We welcome anyone interested in giving Walking Football a go to come along to our free Walking Football program.
“Regardless of whether you’ve never played football before or if you’ve been playing since the day you were born, walking football is a wonderful new way to team up with others and stay healthy.”
