Vote urged for funding

TEN projects in the Granville electorate are vying for a share of $260,000 through the State Government’s ‘My Community Projects’ grants and State MP for Granville, Julia Finn, is urging residents to check out the project they think is best and vote for it.

The projects for the Granville electorate are:
$62,550 – SSLMT Trust Pty Ltd: To provide a sports and community centre in Clyde for youth, new immigrants and those with disability within local minority communities;
$200,000 – Westmead Public School: For a new community hub in Westmead Public School and associated redevelopment of the play area;
$130,000 – Friends of STARTTS: The project will provide culturally appropriate support to South Sudanese refugee families at Guildford;
$166,000 – Shakti NSW: An integrated holistic help line and culturally competent case management project to support 200 victims of domestic violence;
$98,428 – Mita Wellness Centre Inc: Mita Wellness: To help over 125 people every week over a year with free sessions of yoga and meditation;
$120,000 – Merrylands Public School: Revitalise the school oval to a safe and green space for students to play;
$39,850 – Merrylands High School P&C: Workshops to increase the outcomes for children in public schools and their parents by identifying successful application strategies;
$200,000 – Granville Public School P&C: Levelling the football pitch and laying an all-weather surface with permanent line markings;
$197,321 – Western Sydney Multicultural Family and Youth Association Incorporated: Fit-out of 14 classrooms and a youth room at Guildford – including chairs, white boards, wifi, screens, projectors, painting, carpets and lights;
$49,891 – Holroyd Youth Services: A youth led and focused community awareness and engagement of mental health and well-being in a digital platform.
