Volunteer honoured for outstanding contribution

GREENACRE resident and St John Ambulance volunteer, Kerrie Hall was honoured for her outstanding contribution during the past 38 years.

She was one 16 St John Ambulance NSW members who were awarded The Order of St John in recognition for going above and beyond to devote their time, effort, and expertise into helping others, at Government House.
Membership within The Order of St John is an honour sanctioned by the Governor-General on behalf of The Order’s Sovereign Head, Queen Elizabeth II.
Promoted to Commander in 2013, Ms Hall has demonstrated outstanding contributions during her 38 years of membership and is the Communications Hub Leader for St John Ambulance NSW. She was also promoted in the Order to the Grade of Dame of Grace.
She has developed strong partnerships with emergency services and has been instrumental in securing a role for St John volunteers to staff the NSW Public Information Inquiry Centre, with many members assisting during the recent bushfires and floods. She also used her professional expertise to set up a state-of-the-art radio communications centre at the St John Headquarters.
Sarah Lance, CEO of St John Ambulance NSW, said that volunteers make up an essential part of the organisation and help make communities a better, and safer, place for all.
