Anna Capara has been making the most of the weekly exercise classes.
“At $45 a term, the classes are very reasonable and not over-crowded,” the 64-year-old says.
“You get to know others and it’s nice to chat a bit afterwards.
“It also boosts your mood because you know you’re doing something beneficial to your health.”
The theme for this year is ‘Celebrate Together’ and the festival starts on Wednesday, February 1.
The program will feature outdoor activities, including bus trips to the Central Coast (February 1, 8), picnic day (Thursday, February 2, 10.30am-2pm at Auburn Botanic Gardens) and golf (Thursday, February 9, at Woodville Golf Course).
There will also be free hearing specialist health checks and online workshops including a Digital Learning Drop-In Session (Wednesday, February 8, 11am-1pm at Auburn Library).
Cumberland Mayor Lisa Lake says the festival is a great way to acknowledge the important roles seniors play in our community.
“The Seniors Festival provides opportunities to explore the great outdoors, meet people, learn new skills and engage in an enticing program of events and activities,” she said.
