Virus closes Panania school

CLEANERS were brought in to St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School at Panania as students and staff were locked out on Monday, March 16 following a Covid-19 scare.

The temporary 24-hour shut down was ordered as a precautionary measure after a participant at a professional development event hosted by the school on Thursday tested positive to the virus.
The event was also attended by participants from the public and independent schools sector and Sydney Catholic Schools executive director, Tony Farley said the infected person was not a teacher at St Christopher’s primary or any other Sydney Catholic School.
He said the parents, students and staff impacted were informed of the temporary shut-down on Sunday afternoon and while the risk is low Sydney Catholic Schools were leaving nothing to chance.
