The theme for the month is ‘Rebuild, Recharge, Renew’ but they can’t do it without your support – so drop in, say ‘hello’ and buy local.
State MPs Wendy Lindsay (East Hills) and Sophie Cotsis (Canterbury) have praised our small business community and encourage residents to show their support.
Mrs Lindsay says small business is not only the backbone of our economy, but also our local community.
“We have many varied and interesting businesses in our local shopping villages,” she said. “Some are multi-generational such as Leslie’s Shoes at Padstow and Condell Park Produce Store, while others have bravely opened throughout the Covid-19 pandemic like Orexi HQ at Revesby, Lips to Lashes and Xquisite Nutrition at Padstow.”
Ms Cotsis says the last two years have been significantly difficult for small business who have had to endure many hardships, with little to no Government support, but the dedication and perseverance they have shown is testament to their strength and the passion for what they do.
“Small businesses continue to play a vital role in our community,” she said. “They employ hundreds of workers in the local area and provide residents with essential goods and services, including products that cater to different multicultural communities.”
Urging all to ‘shop local’ in Small Business Month
IT’S Small Business Month and with many great businesses “right here on our doorstep”, everyone’s encouraged to shop locally to help local operators bounce back from the economic impacts of the pandemic.
