Plane skids off in landing

TWO people walked uninjured from a plane that skidded off the runway as it landed at Bankstown Airport last Thursday about 2.55pm.

There were some delays at the airport as firefighters mopped up a leak before the plane was removed.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will investigate the crash.

Ute ploughs into two properties
THE owners of a Roselands dentistry are facing a huge clean-up bill after a car crashed into the business and caught alight last Saturday about 1am.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a Toyota utility had hit two houses – the second a dental business – before bursting into flames.
A 53-year-old man was treated by paramedics for serious injuries and taken to hospital in a stable condition. Police are investigating.

Offensive behaviour at memorial
A MAN from Bankstown was one of two charged over alleged offensive behaviour in Sydney’s east.
Last Thursday about 2pm, two men allegedly attended a memorial at Bondi Beach for hostages taken by Hamas and removed several posters.
The 40-year-old and a 25-year-old were issued criminal infringement notices (CIN) for offensive behaviour, which carries a fine of $500.

Extra patrols over speed
POLICE have been asked to increase patrols in a number of streets with residents concerned about speeding motorists, dangerous driving and non-compliance with the road rules.
Police will target Woodland Road, Chester Hill; Enright Street at Worsley Street, East Hills; Lyminge Road, Croydon Park; and South Terrace, Punchbowl.
