Police attended a house in Nina Street about 1.45pm in relation to a man wanted on three outstanding warrants.
They allegedly found the 28-year-old man hiding within a wardrobe and a struggle ensued between the man and police, with a woman, believed to be known to the man, hindering police.
During the struggle, two officers were bitten by a dog located at the premises, with the female detective sergeant sustaining lacerations to her shin, thigh, chest and hand, while a male constable was bitten on the hand, sustaining lacerations.
The man allegedly ran from the house into neighbouring properties and was of found by police under a house in Dove Street.
He was then taken to hospital due to minor injuries.
The two officers were taken to Bankstown Hospital for treatment of their injuries. An elderly female resident at the house was also taken to hospital after being bitten by the dog.
The incident has been referred to the City of Canterbury-Bankstown Council.
