Two more walk-in clinics offering jab

ACCESS to AstraZeneca vaccinations has been bolstered with walk-in pop up clinics at Merrylands and Guildford.

The vaccinations are available to all people aged 40 and over, with bookings and referrals not required.
As long as you are not unwell, and are not a close contact of someone who has the virus or have it yourself, getting a vaccination is a reasonable excuse to leave home.
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) chief executive Graeme Loy said that the pop-up clinics would allow community members to get faster access to the vaccination.
“If you are aged 40 years and over and want to get your Covid-19 vaccination sooner, I encourage you to drop into one of our pop-up clinics,” Graeme said.
Many GPs and pharmacies are also offering AstraZeneca to people over 40 years old.
Walk-in pop-up clinics will be held at Ted Burge Hall, 57 Centenary Rd, Merrylands, on Wednesday, August 4, 9am-3pm; and Guildford Community Centre, 367 Guildford Road, Guildford, on Friday, August 6, 9am-3pm.
While welcoming an increase in vaccinations, Cumberland Mayor Steve Christou says the rollout has been haphazard.
“It falls well short of what we need,” he said.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said higher vaccination rates and following the health orders were the only way to guarantee the further easing of restrictions.
“Though the Pfizer supply is insufficient there is plenty of AstraZeneca, and updated federal health advice recommends anyone aged 18 and over in Greater Sydney should access the jab,” Ms Berejiklian said.
