Two more charged over fatal Greenacre shooting

HOMICIDE Squad detectives have charged two additional men with murder as investigations continue into a fatal shooting in Greenacre last year under Strike Force Alpina.

Shortly after 2.15am on Sunday, July 23, 2023, emergency services were called to Mayvic Street following reports of a public place shooting.
Paramedics treated an injured 25-year-old man found in a parked vehicle, but he died four days later.
A 22-year-old man and 19-year-old woman located in a separate parked vehicle were also injured. While the woman has since recovered, the man sustained life-altering spinal injuries.
Detectives from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad commenced investigations under Strike Force Alpina, which was overseen by Task Force Magnus.
Strike Force Alpina detectives have already charged seven people in relation to the incident who remain before the courts, and a 22-year-old man remains wanted by virtue of an outstanding arrest warrant.
Following further inquiries, just after 10am yesterday (Tuesday, July 30), strike force detectives, with assistance from Raptor Squad, arrested a 35-year-old man at a business in Liverpool. He was charged with murder, two counts of shoot at with intent to murder, and participate criminal group contribute criminal.
Earlier, a 27-year-old man was transferred from a correction centre to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with murder, two counts of shoot at with intent to murder, acquire etc pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order, supply etc prohibited firearm subject prohibition order, and participate criminal group contribute criminal.
Inquiries continue.
