Two Blues win lion’s share of State titles

WESTERN Sydney Two Blues have enjoyed the lion’s share of the wins in the 2023 NSW Junior Rugby State Championships, proudly supported by The Rugby Club Foundation, held across the Long Weekend.

Two Blues won three State Titles and two Sydney Cups – the U13 Boys B J Gregory Shield, U15 Boys John Goddard Shield, U16 Girls Kerry Brady Shield, U15 Boys G I Ferris Cup and U14 Girls P G Taylor Cup.
Two Blues Rugby Operations Manager Randy Basra said it was a fantastic weekend for the juniors.
“There were some great wins and spectacular tries scored,” he said.
“It seemed that every player, male and female from all teams, really enjoyed themselves while playing which was great to see.”
Basra said Two Blues was fortunate to have a very strong juniors base.
“This has resulted in many players, both male and female, go on to be professional rugby players and I think from the teams that played over the weekend, we’ll see plenty more of them in the near future,” he said.
“Our juniors are run by a huge base of volunteers and is steered by Two Blues Juniors President Tim Shand who does a truly excellent job in promoting togetherness and fun and that’s evident in how the teams played last weekend for themselves, their families and the Two Blues community.”
