NEW entrant into the tutoring market, Dymocks Tutoring, grew by a huge 2000 per cent in its first year of operations under brand name Potentia Tutoring, with its 2019 HSC student cohort achieving an average increase in their marks of 23 per cent.
This year, the Bankstown tutoring business has re-branded to make the connection to parent company Dymocks clearer, including a nod to the Dymocks logo and brand.
Student results and building a connected student community are key to how Dymocks Tutoring intends to grow its success.
A number of the highest achieving students have gone on to tutor with the organisation and help others achieve the same results, including Jamal Fettayleh and Sara Lowe.
“Studying with Dymocks Tutoring for economics, gave me great practice with the take-home questions,” Jamal said.
“I could submit essays and get feedback which was really helpful.”
Jamal received an ATAR of 97.65 and was an all rounder, achieving a band 6 or higher in all his subjects.
He is now tutoring while studying Law and Commerce at UNSW.
Sara, who achieved an ATAR of 94.8, said: “I saw a big improvement in my marks when I studied with Dymocks Tutoring, particularly in English – when I started I was getting band fours, and I finished my HSC with a band 6.
“The tutors were amazing and provided really great individualised support.”
Sara is studying Biomedical Engineering and Medical Science.
Dymocks Tutoring is offering free trial lessons to all students.
