Turn on lights for park activity

CUMBERLAND Council has turned on the lights in parks and ovals from dusk until 9pm daily to allow extra time for exercise and fresh air. They have selected several ovals – including Granville Park; Phillips Park, Lidcombe; Tom Uren Park, Guildford; King Park, Merrylands; Horlyck Reserve, Granville; and Princes Park, Auburn – to provide a mix across the area, where a maximum of 10 people can exercise together.

Trio fined $1,000 each over trip
THREE men – two aged 21 and one aged 23 – from Merrylands and Auburn, were each issued with $1000 PINs and directed to return to Sydney after a trip to Jenolan Caves. Police said the group allegedly attempted to purchase tickets for a tour. Staff requested the group to leave on establishing they were from Sydney and police were notified. A short time later, police stopped their vehicle and when asked why they had travelled there, allegedly said they were bored.
