Dining Out

‘Turkish-inspired’ meals delicious and affordable

AFTER many years’ experience producing juicy, flavoursome, Turkish-inspired cuisine here and overseas, Jason Dursun opened Crazy Brothers Kebabs early last year which was in full swing until Covid hit but has now bounced back.

With a wonderful chargrilled menu on offer, Jason says all products are halal, of the highest quality and affordably priced.
“We are different in that a lot of kebab shops in Sydney don’t have an in-house chef; they simply buy everything wholesale and serve it up,” he said.
“But I am here everyday and make everything fresh from scratch, all the doughs, salads, desserts and meat dishes.
“You can really taste the difference; that’s what my customers tell me and that’s why they keep coming back.”
The world’s best kebabs come from Turkey, according to Jason, with the delicious chunks of marinated lamb, beef or chicken placed on skewers usually without vegetables and turned over a coal fire until they are roasted to perfection.
“I spent seven years working as a chef in Austria but am Turkish so can offer my customers the best of both worlds, with some European techniques thrown,” he said.
Saying the kebabs, burgers, pizzas and pides run out the door most days, with the eatery open 10am to 10pm daily (closed on Sunday), Jason said his snack packs were also hugely popular.
“Ranging from small to large, $11-$21, the packs contain hot chips, your choice of kebab meat and sauce,” he said.
“The young tradies that come in everyday can’t get enough of them.”
