Treat for Greek Fest crowd

CELEBRATING the world’s best Greek musicians, the band ‘Mistura’ is set to dazzle Greek Festival audiences at Bankstown Sports this month.

The band comprises a rare mix of cultures – hence ‘Mistura’ the Portuguese word for ‘mix’ – each drawing from their cultural roots and popular music.
You’ll hear songs you know but expect to also discover amazing tunes that take you to other times and places.
Vocalist Heidi Spiliopoulos says there will be plenty of nods to Greek artists including composer Mikis Theodorakis credited with over 1,000 works including the score for films ‘Zorba the Greek’ and ‘Serpico’, Nana Mouskouri and Manolis Hiotis, described by Jimi Hendrix as the world’s best guitarist.
“This will be a special night for Greeks, with non-Greeks also catered for,” she said.
Book for the Friday, March 31, show (tickets, $30) at bankstownsports.com.
