‘Toot Toot To Sydney’ in Arabic set to give all ages good laugh

ARABIC speaking residents who love a laugh are invited to enjoy a riotous new play, ‘Toot Toot To Sydney’, as it makes its Australian premiere next week at Bryan Brown Theatre.

Ayoub Ayoub is a young man yearning for a better lifestyle.
Like many people from a disadvantaged background in Lebanon and dreaming of a way to get out of their miserable situation, he convinces his brother Halim to sponsor him on a trip to Sydney.
Within a day of arriving, Ayoub finds himself at odds with the expatriates, followed by an accident that changes his life forever.
It’s directed by Abbas Mourad and produced by Mohamed Saboun who says it features a ‘laugh out loud’ plot and is also an intriguing love story.
“There’s heaps of hilarious lines and scenes that people will definitely be able to relate to, with most of the dialogue in Arabic,” he said.
With a cast of talented but ’unknown’ local actors, Mohamed says there is also a lot of music to enjoy.
“When the music comes on, the audience is encouraged to get up and dance along; it’s so great as you really feel part of the show.
“We are sure people of all ages will really enjoy it.”
Catch comedy ‘Toot Toot To Sydney’ on Wednesday, June 7, from 7pm.
