Getting underway last week with about 30 children, aged from three to five years, the Tiny Tots program is on offer on Fridays, 6-7pm, at The Crest in Bankstown, with all siblings welcome too.
Organiser Melissa Christian said last Friday’s launch of the program was a fun night and invited more parents to bring along their children.
“It was an exciting night as the new parents and athletes found their way,” she said.
“We worked on a variety of skills including developing fine motor and gross motor skills through running, jumping and throwing, with lots of games adding to their evening’s enjoyment.
“We also encourage parent participation as it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with your own child and have heaps of fun with them.”
Melissa said skills developed at Little Athletics would set up children for life in any sport.
“Our activities develop coordination, concentration and confidence as well as fitness,” she said.
“It’s wonderful to think that many of our Tiny Tots in previous years have gone on to do amazing things in athletics as well as lots of other sports.”
