Thousands on Corpus Christi walk

OVER 3,000 have turned out to take part in the annual Corpus Christi parade from St John The Beloved in Greenacre (Melkite Catholic) to St Jerome’s (Roman Catholic) and St Charbel’s (Maronite Catholic) in Punchbowl, supported by a marching band. Organiser Norm Bejjani said it was a beautiful, sacred night filled with incense, hymns and prayer. “Our goal is to bring all people to this experience of peace and love,” he said. A moveable observance, the Corpus Christi parade takes place on the Thursday after Trinity Sunday and is a holy day of obligation in many countries.
