A free event, it is an opportunity to enjoy a day of fun and entertainment with a range of food vendors, merchandise vendors, craft, painting and activities for all ages, including face painting, henna, amusement rides, multicultural performances (Chinese, Vietnamese, Lebanese, Indonesian and Japanese), a 9D Cinema, pony rides, petting zoo, jumping castle and scratch art sessions for kids.
Many food and retail vendors are showcasing traditional cuisine and there will also be raffles and prize giveaways.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said what the festival brought to the community and beyond, was not measured in dollars but in the enormous benefits that couldn’t be measured like love, harmony and working together as a community.
“It serves as a platform for fostering connections and building a stronger sense of unity,” he said.
Councillor Karl Saleh said the festival would be the perfect event for the community looking to welcome the Spring season.
“It celebrates our diverse and thriving society, and is a wonderful showcase of community spirit,” he said.
The festival will be on Saturday, September 16, 10am-6pm, at Salt Pan Creek Park, Riverwood, with a free shuttle bus service from 9.30am from Punchbowl and Riverwood stations to Riverwood Community Centre.
