Thousands enjoy taste of world during Bites festival

GRIFFITH Park and Olympic Parade were bustling with nearly 12,000 people turning out to taste the world at Bankstown Bites last Saturday.

Juicy satay skewers, drool-worthy dumplings and Yiayia’s traditional loukoumades were just some of the delicious dishes on offer as the street was lined with food stalls from around the globe.
Punk pastry powerhouse, Anna Polyviou, cooked up a storm with her mum, Eugina, on stage and shared their culinary secrets in a series of masterclasses.
Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said it was a fantastic showcase of the many cultures and cuisines in our City.
“We know that food unites the world and our City certainly was united as so many came together to taste the best of Bankstown,” he said.
