THOUSANDS of residents checked out the new $50m Bunnings Padstow at 88 Fairford Road on the weekend after it threw open its doors on Saturday and welcomed 130 new staff who join 31 existing team members who transferred to the new warehouse. Manager Terran Franks said the team was looking forward to providing local residents with a wide range of home improvement and outdoor living products and being part of the Padstow community.
“Customers located in the immediate surrounding suburbs won’t have to travel as far for the products they need,” Terran said.
The store also offers customers contactless shopping options, including Drive and Collect and Click and Deliver.
Drive and Collect gives customers the option to pick up their order from Bunnings car parks, with no contact between team members and customers.
Customers can expect 15 kitchen displays, eight bathroom displays, a nursery, click and collect services and over 375 car parks, as well as a five-lane drive thru with 25 indoor car spaces.
A number of team members will be skilled experts in tools, paint, timber, hardware, horticulture, power gardening, plumbing and storage, and will be on hand to provide local residents with expert advice for all their projects.
“Bunnings provides a wide range of meaningful career development options for all team members and I’m confident our new recruits will embrace the opportunity to learn and grow with us,” Terran said.
One such team member is Richard Herring.
Richard, a qualified horticulturalist, joined the Bunnings team after an extensive career in landscaping and then local government, managing open space infrastructure.
