Teen wins selection to fight for Australia

READY to take on the best among the Pacific nations, Earlwood teen Charlie Kazzi has been selected in the Australian team to attend the Oceania Junior Youth Boxing Championships in Samoa from May 20-26.

Fighting in the 67kg (welterweight) division, the 17-year-old has enjoyed much success in the ring since putting on his first gloves at the age of two.
In the last few years, he has won numerous Australian and State titles as well as Golden Glove competitions but this will be the first time he has travelled outside of Australia to compete.
Proud Dad and Coach, Peter Kazzi says Charlie has what it takes to come back a winner.
“He’s talented plus very dedicated and trains five days a week for up to three hours a day,” Peter said.
“He’s really looking forward to it and feeling confident.”
