Each year the school hosts 12 teacher education students who are partnered with experienced teachers at Wiley Park.
The teachers mentor them and reflect on their teaching practice, making it a valuable practical placement for the students.
“As students we value the support of the staff and their commitment to our professional development,” president of the Notre Dame Education Society, James Tran, said.
On the behalf of the society, James presented Principal Rene Demos with a cheque for $421 (pictured) earlier this month.
“We have a very active Student Representative Council that can help us decide where the money would be best spent,” Mrs Demos said.
“We are very grateful for our partnership with Notre Dame University, which is all about developing the best teachers to deliver education now and into the future.”
Teacher students cook up way to thank host school
STUDENTS from the Notre Dame Education Society held a bake sale last month to raise funds for Wiley Park Public School as a gesture of thanks for the school’s ongoing support of their professional teaching development.
