‘Taking out top win a complete surprise’

Showroom Manager Peter Yusuf said he had a feeling they might win something but taking out the major award was a complete surprise.
“We’ve been in business for over 20 years and have the biggest showroom in Sydney plus we don’t have to do any marketing, it’s all word of mouth,” he said.
“When they read out our name for the first win, I was really happy but to win Business of the Year is exciting.
“We have a long relationship with many customers and do a lot of repeat business; some people just come for advice and we don’t charge them; everything we do is to help the customer and to win these awards is a good sign we’re doing well.”
No stranger at winning local awards in the Barber Shop category, International Barber Salon’s Gokmen Tanak was completely blown away to this year be named ‘Business Person of the Year’.
He said he was surprised, humbled and grateful for the support of his customers as well as the local community for this acknowledgement of his efforts.
“It’s such a great motivator to keep doing the best I can and to continue to innovate as we offer not only traditional grooming but luxury hair and skincare treatments,” he said.
An old hand at winning local business awards as well as seven ‘Rate My Agent’ awards, Lidcombe’s Phillip Daidone Realty took out the Real Estate Agency category.
Joseph Daidone said they were committed to providing clients with the most positive buying, selling and property management experiences possible.
“Customer service is our number one priority, we all work overtime to get the job done, going that extra mile and we’re so happy to be recognised with another award win,” he said.
